Personal Logo Journey
This is my personal branding logo. I worked hard to design something that not only represents who I am but describes me as a designer. The color purple has always been my favorite because it is a wonderful balance between warm and cool colors. Color has been a huge influence in most of my creative work. From oil painting to photography I’ve always looked towards art and color theory for ideas and inspiration.
The reason I choose to represent myself with a lotus flower is very personal to me. When a lotus flower first begins to bud it’s submerged in muddy waters where the environment consists of insects, fish, and debris. When it is time for the flower to bloom, the bud pushes the debris away and comes out to face the sun, and shows its beautiful petals.
I like to think that the lotus flower’s journey isn’t dissimilar from my own. As a designer, we must rise above the muddy waters and show the world what we have to offer. A beautiful flower can bloom in any environment with the right amount of aspiration, drive, and desire.
Brand Board
My brand board is a compilation of elements that brought me to my final logo design. It shows my color palettes, type, mood board, and final logo. All of these elements are what inspired me to go in the direction I went in.
It all begins with a sketch.
A design cannot be created without sketching. This is an example of some rough sketches I created when trying to figure out an idea that represented me. As you can see, all of my sketches embodied elements of nature in some way or form.
